Hypomenorrhoea

Description: A condition where the menstrual period is short usually lasts less than two days and the flow is scanty and light in color.


Persons most commonly affected: Teenagers and in women.

Organ or part of body involved: Female reproductive system.

Symptoms and indications: Regular periods of a lesser amount of flow.

Causes and risk factors: An overactive thyroid function (hyperthyroidism) or kidney diseases can cause hypomenorrhoea. Oral contraceptive pills can also cause hypomenorrhoea.
